Om studiet

The programme Master in Fine Art is a two-year course that aims to give the students a unique footing for their future advancement in research, theory and professional artistic practice. The programme is aimed at emerging artists who seek to deepen their practice in a context that is studio and workshop oriented and where they are encouraged to develop their own initiatives. The objective of the programme Master in Fine Art is to develop the student's ability to work as a professional artist. The programme aims to reflect the contemporary conceptions of what it means to work as a professional artist and thereby offer students the opportunity to develop their individual ambitions to work professionally in the field of fine arts. As the main objective is to educate artists, the creation of works of art, exhibitions and other artistic expressions constitutes the most important aspects in the programme of study. The teaching will provide the students with tools that enable them to acquaint themselves in the international art field, and to reflect on and competently discuss artistic work, produced by themselves or others, both textually and orally. The learning activities are centered on the student's studio practice and presentations of artistic work. The programme includes workshops, seminars, artist talks, studio discussions and supervision. The student must both attend group exhibitions and solo exhibitions, as well as participate in other learning activities.

The curriculum for work requirements and examinations can be found in the course descriptions. Examination and assessment methods: portfolio assessment, written coursework, oral presentations and exhibitions.
