Customise your Master of Science in Business degree by choosing a major in Accounting and Business Control.
Accounting and Business Control is about turning financial data into reliable insight that supports good decisions. You’ll build a solid base in financial and management accounting, cash and risk management, and performance management. We mix theory with hands-on tools and real cases, with a strong focus on data, sustainability and responsible business.
You will learn to:
- prepare and explain financial reports and understand sustainability reports
- build and improve control and performance systems
- plan cash and funding, and manage market risks using modern treasury tools
- use data and technology to support decisions under uncertainty
- handle ethics, stakeholder trade-offs and regulatory requirements in reporting and control
- communicate insight clearly to managers, boards, regulators and investors

- Business control and performance – goals/KPIs, budgeting and forecasting
- Treasury and financial risk – liquidity, funding and hedging currency/interest risk
- Finance data and analytics – dashboards, forecasting and scenario analysis
- Internal control, governance and sustainability – control environment, ethics and reporting standards
Many of these areas will ultimately prepare you for a position as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of an organisation.
