Om studiet

The major Business Analysis and Performance Management (BUS) gives you insights into value creation and sustainability in firms and organisations from a management control, financial accounting and operations management perspective.

If your career goals include positions such as controller, consultant, operations manager, chief financial officer, head of accounting or other leadership positions in large organisations (such as chief operation officer or chief executive officer), then BUS will provide a solid foundation for your future career.

The BUS major gives you a good understanding of how to analyse and manage performance in firms and organisations. The courses will prepare you take informed decisions to enhance the value creation in your organisation.

The major strives to provide a balance between Norwegian and international context so that students have a solid understanding of the national environment as well as prepare them for international careers and challenges.

Studiets oppbygging

The BUS major contains a wide range of courses that can roughly speaking be categorised into four themes:

  1. Organise and manage value creation
  2. Measure and analyse value creation
  3. Improve production and logistics
  4. Financial reporting and auditing

Students can choose to focus on one of these themes or choose a broader course portfolio covering several of the themes.

Opptakskrav

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree: 90 ECTS must be within economics and business administration. Your GPA should correspond approximately to a B on the ECTS grading scale.
  2. GMAT or GRE
  3. English language requirement
  4. Curriculum vitae (résumé)
  5. Documentation of financial ability: All citizens outside the EU/EEA-area and Switzerland must document financial ability.
  6. Documentation of identity
  7. Online video and written assessment

As a PhD research scholar you will be a member of our faculty. The purpose of our three (or four) year, fully funded programme, is to give the scholar a deepened and broadened theoretical and methodological knowledge, alongside the experience of producing a substantial piece of original scientific work. The conferral of the PhD in economics and business administration signifies expertise in a major field of study.

The majority of our PhD graduates develop an academic career, but an increasing number take on leading positions in management, consultancy or in larger organisations.

Utveksling

As an NHH student you have excellent opportunities to gain valuable international experience during your studies through exchange programmes, the CEMS Master's in International Management (MIM) joint degree, the Double Degree programme and summer courses.

NHH currently participates in exchange and study abroad agreements with 170 universities and business schools in more than 50 countries.
