You can acquire a civil or military education in the Norwegian Armed Force, ranging from trade certificates to master’s degrees. You can become an engineer, officer, manager, mine diver or coastal ranger. The Norwegian Armed Forces has more than 500 apprentices annually.

This type of education is often flexible and can be combined with a job. Further education is often offered part time, as an online course or as a series of seminars. People are typically admitted based on previous education or informal qualification such as work experience.

Many companies offer education and training that qualify for a particular occupation. On some courses you will receive a monthly salary while in training and they may include a period of obligatory service afterwards.
