Om studiet

This programme provides the vital link between environmental toxicology and environmental chemistry. The main focus of the programme will be the fate and effects of pollutants, and how they are distributed in the environment (including air, water, soil and food chains) both on a local and a global scale. You will study the interaction between environmental toxicants and organisms (including human), and how this affects individuals, populations and ecosystems. Methods will include field work and/or experimental studies in laboratory on individual organisms (in vivo) or on cell cultures (in vitro). It is also possible to specialise within the area of environmental monitoring of organic and inorganic chemical toxicants. This will include method development, and quality assurance using state of the art equipment. You will also study a wide range of environmental pollutants and methods of pollution control which are of utmost importance for the conservation of natural resources and ecosystems. Such skills and experiences are extremely marketable, making you attractive to a wide range of employers both in the public and private sectors.
